Visa-free entry to Vietnam for citizens of 12 countries

The Government has just issued Resolution No. 44/NQ-CP dated March 7, 2025, on visa exemption for citizens of certain countries. The duration of temporary stay is 45 days from the date of entry, regardless of passport type or entry purpose.

The Resolution clearly states visa exemption for citizens of certain countries:

  • Federal Republic of Germany
  • French Republic
  • Italian Republic
  • Kingdom of Spain
  • United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland 
  • Russian Federation
  • Japan
  • Republic of Korea
  • Kingdom of Denmark
  • Kingdom of Sweden
  • Kingdom of Norway
  • Republic of Finland

with a temporary stay of 45 days from the date of entry, regardless of passport type or purpose of entry, provided that all entry conditions under Vietnamese law are fully met.

The visa exemption policy for citizens of the aforementioned countries entering Vietnam will be implemented from March 15, 2025, to March 14, 2028, and will be considered for extension in accordance with Vietnamese law.
"Government Resolution No. 32/NQ-CP dated March 15, 2022, and Government Resolution No. 128/NQ-CP dated August 14, 2023, will expire from March 15, 2025.
